qb needs a logo
I've just posted an announcement on the qb-users list, asking for logo suggestions. I'm not going to repeat myself and neither use copy&paste, so please read the announcement on the list. Looking forward to your submissions!
qb-users mailing list available
The last few days an unusually high amount of requests regarding qb have reached my inbox (like, three or so). And since some of the questions and suggestions those qb users came up with actually were the same, I've decided to decrease the level of star topology in communication about qb. Therefore, without further ado, I'm happy to announce that now there is a qb-users mailing list. Come join the fun!
I'll be adding a link to qb's documentation in a minute, and I'll stop doing off-list support from April 4th on, because on the list everything is nicely archived, and if some users really subscribe, there could be quite a creative level of discussion be going on in some days.
qb 0.3.0rc1 delayed
It looks as if the first release candidate of 0.3 will be delayed some days. DrMaXX found a bug: qb does not work well when it's not installed in a sub directory of the DocumentRoot. I'll look into this ASAP, hopefully tomorrow, since I'm quite busy at the moment.
New qb beta available: v0.3.0b2
Some minutes ago, I've tagged the current state of the qb Git repository as version 0.3.0 Beta 2. qb users are strongly encouraged to have a look at it and report possible bugs and other strange things. I'm planning to publish a 0.3.0 release candidate early next week.
Changes since 0.3.0b1:
- Documentation in README.html improved quite a lot.
- Contrib script to import Wordpress data.
- .htaccess is now redirecting to qb.php instead of qb.php?$1
- Author and blog name are now configurable without modifying templates.
- QB_NODOTS has been removed, we should be safe from AFI/XSS nevertheless.
- Small tidying.
Testers are encouraged to check the following things:
- Does URL rewriting still work for you, with and without trailing slashes?
- Can you think of any security exploits now that QB_NODOTS is gone?
- Do you understand the documentation? Is something unclear? Any suggestions?
qb version 0.3 approaching
Those of you who monitor qb's Git repository may have noticed that there's quite a lot going on. The reason is that psychon approached me about running qb on lighttpd. Well, we managed to make it run, and while we were at it, included parts of the 0.5 code into the current 0.2 codebase that allows qb to auto-detect where it's installed. Also, new template tags were introduced and all kinds of other things fixed.
Therefore, and because lots have changed since the last official release 0.2.2, I've decided to do an interim 0.3 release before focusing on 0.5. That way people who don't want to work with the Git version can be quite up-to-date, too. There will be a 0.3 beta 2 in the next few days (beta 1 was Git-only), followed by a release candidate and finally the 0.3 version. Stay tuned.
By the way, I've created a sub-blog for qb news, so if you're not interested in the other parts of my life you can skip those now.
